Transportation

As expressed in the Town's Vision Statement, the community is committed to becoming a multi-modal community where automobile usage will be minimized due to efficient pedestrian and transit systems, a place in which once visitors and residents reach their destination, automobile travel is subordinate to transit, walking and cycling. Furthermore, in the Town of Mammoth Lakes expansion of roadways has been discouraged and is only accomplished when other modes of transportation are not capable of serving the community.

In fact, roadways are actually being downsized on Old Mammoth Road and Meridian Boulevard in order to make room for sidewalks and bike lanes. These efforts clearly illustrate the Town's commitment to development a multi-modal community where mobility is accessible and safe for all.
